If your boat is moving a little bit.the 360 will be clearer than if the boat is completely stationary. (Once structure is located,a slight movement, port to starboard or starboard to port will result in a clearer picture of the structure.the speed settings on the 360 will affect the quality of the view also.(don't run the 360 to slow, especially on larger objects that are farther out) they will blur more.(try to keep your sensitivity setting as low as you can stand it.
This coming spring, find you some blue gill beds.watch how the they look while stationary. Then give the boat a slight port to starboard , then starboard to port . you'll see what I'm saying.
In SI ... All stationary echo targets pass thru the slice beam at the same speed ...regardless of how far away from the xducer each stationary target is ...(Easier for the unit to process) ...
In 360 ...targets pass thru the sweep beam at varying speeds dependent on how far away from the xducer each stationary targets is ... (Difficult for the unit to process)...
I envision a day in the future where the 360 processing will advance enough to process out that inherent blur effect ...
It will happen ...eventually ...

If you keep the unit from sweeping will it clear up the image?

I'm hoping that chirp , for 360 is coming
Wiber, the 360 has to be scanning continueusly. If it were stopped, there would be just a narrow beam scanning the same place
