When I read about though new non touch units, the first thing that came to mind was, I don't think that I would want an (Onizuka) without touch capabilities. (Onizuka, is another word my phone likes to use.SOFTWARE GLITCHES ,seems to be away of life now.

Bob, if you were in the boat with me all day fishing.watching me operate the onx/360, you wouldn't notice anything wrong with it.also I think you would see why I say that the other companies don't offer anything that I would want. Now it's Monday I hope deil posts back with some good news later . he's the one, with his style of fishing and add-ons that will benefit the best from the update.

Kosmo I hope that Diel brings back good news too but if you had spend more time with your Onix at the console I'm confident that you would have a different thought process.

I have over 100 hours at idle with my two console units since June. Probably that many more at the house with recordings. I use my electronics more than I fish most days (my fishing partner can verify that...LOL). I have gone through the manual page-by-page while on the water taking note of things that didn't work at all or not correctly. I had three pages of issues before the last update ....... three pages!!! Since the last update it's some better but other things don't work that functioned before.

My fishing partner constantly reminds me I push my three Onix units (all units for that matter) way beyond what most folks would BUT today's units are a "fishing system" and those of us that run them that way expect them to work as a system. When I see something I want to fish and deploy my Ipilot Link I expect the entire system to function as one unit. Right now it's a totally dysfunctional, and very frustrating, experience............

Here's to hoping that all is well soon!! I really want a 360 and Santa is getting impatient .... LOL

Interesting responses.....I was just thinking it would be awfully appealing to get the Onix functionality and great DI and save $500 on it. I guess the combination of buttons and touch really does give the best of both worlds....even with sluggish touch.

I think anyone who wants and Onix should thank James and his contact, because it sounds like a lot of the bug fixes that are supposed to be coming may be because of his interaction with them......I think Diel1 has been doing the same thing....The dedicated customer service people are keeping things alive.

I also think Kosmo should get a little more TLC with his problems. The images he posts help convince everyone of the Onix capabilities.

James.....I have been incredulous also what people have been willing to put up with.....especially with things like the 800Khz problems on the 99 series........Wow, didn't realize you had 3 Onix.....You really went all-in.

Here's to hoping HB gets their software act together....

I'll make a video tomorrow from boot up, go through some menu items and shut down, using the 2.00 software.

    kosmo,
So how long do you estimate that it took you it actually perform the update itself (once you had the software unzipped and on the SD memory card)? The instructions say that it should take 15 minutes.

I know that this update is unlike any we have done before and there are a lot of warnings. I know that I’m going to have to borrow a memory card to update mine as I don’t have a 4GB class 6 or larger/faster memory card.
