    I bought the 7x for the bow back in the summer . No complaints yet.

    I am one of the posters on this thread. Read carefully and then make sure they have resolved this issue. Lowrance was good enough to upgrade me to an HDS7 touch screen for about half what it normally cost. The Elite 7 is a super unit except for the Navionics issue. I understand it has been resolved. but I would make sure or get a different chip to go in it.
