Default Motorguide Quick Disconnect trolling motor plate for Xi5

Is anyone using the Motorguide QD trolling motor plate , part number 90100002 for the XI-5?

I don't run the Xi5 on my boat but I've sold a bunch of them and probably 35 of the Quick Release Brackets you're referring to. So far, I've not received any negative comments on the bracket. Hopefully, someone that is using the QRB will share their experience.

I run a W55L54 Motorguide with the quick connect bracket with no problems.

I've had one on my Pro Team 175TF all summer (~10 days fishing). Works fine and is a solid mount from my experience.

I _think_ I recall seeing on a Walleye forum that 1 or 2 of the 'big water' guys had the bracket fail...don't recall if it was the bracket itself or the mounting that failed. I cannot find that post now tho (edited...found it: Problems with Motorguide Xi5 aluminum mounting plate? - Walleye Message Central). The Tracker dealer in my local BassPro installed it for me when the Xi5 was installed. First one of those particular mounting brackets they'd ever installed (or seen, since I bought it from Cabela's online - only place at the time that had them).

If you want to put a lock on it, you will need a fairly small 'luggage type' padlock or some sort of small diameter cable lock. The lock hole is pretty small and will not fit a standard size combination/padlock. Wouldn't stop anyone that really wanted to get it off tho.

Thanks for the replies. I found this Video late last night on a failure and I think I will hard mount mine.
