Default Vexilair Mounted with Minnkota US2

    Hi Guys....

Any of you use your flasher while crappie fishing? I recently got the PD2 with the US2 transducer and I was thinking of hooking my FL8 vexilair to it. I think that adapter cable is like $29.

Does anyone know how that will work? I understand that the US2 is dual beam but my FL8 certaintly will not read that. If I hook it up what would my cone angle be?

I have a open water transducer that I had mounted to my old trolling motor... Maybe I should use that one...I think it was like a 30° cone or something? Thoughts...

Also...how much would you guys use the flasher at the bow of the boat. I have had it hooked up be for and hardly used it. Seemed like the conditions were never good enough for me to keep my jig in the cone.

    Thanks...

    My thoughts(don't have flasher)....

...US2 has 200 and 83kHz elements that are independent.
    ...FL8 is 200kHz
...With adapter cable you should be able to use 200kHz element at 20 Degree cone.
...Finding adapter cable may be a challenge.

If the Vexilar uses the 200kHz sonar frequency than it should work but I don’t know how well. The cone angle should be the same 20 degree beam that any unit connected to the US2 will generate as the size of the cone angle is determined by the physical size of the piezo element within the transducer.

I have often wondered the same thing. I have a humminbird ice35 flasher and asked humminbird about a transducer to mount on myboat and I guess it isn't available. I love it for vertical jigging, seeing the jig and fish coming to hit it!

The HB website says the XI 9 19 will work with your ICE 35...

It is not a transom mount but one could be rigged for it ...

That looks like the transducer I have now. I have thought of trying to make something for it to try.

It will be next to impossible to keepnthe jig in the cone like ice fishing. Besides if you did the TM would eat your line.
