Default Any tips for Lowrance elite 4 hdi

I have a Lowrance elite 4 hdi on my boat mounted to my trolling motor up front and its my first one. Currently I have it set up from this guys advice from youtube...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoTv5bNwF8o My questions is does anyone have one of these that don't mind sharing their setup. I feel like I'm missing out on something with the way it is currently setup. I typically fish Lake Carl Blackwell in Oklahoma varying depth up to 30ft, fishing for crappie and saugeye. Thanks in advance!!!!

I'm not sure why you think you may be missing something...

DownScan on the TM is very effective once you learn a few points about DS...

    1. The DS sonar beam is a "thin slice"...(instead of normal 2d's "cone shaped" sonar beam)...
    2. The DS image is created by taking the individual "thin slice" pings and stacking them together on the screen to build the DS image...(think similar to MRI slices stacked together to see the entire body)...
    3. The boat must be moving for the DS to get a new "thin slice" of the water with each ping of the DS sonar...
    4. A straight boat track will make the best DS images
    5. DS can be used stationary ...but the sonar will ping the same "thin slice" of water repeatedly ... causing smeared looking images

Lots of info here about ELITE DS very similar to your ELITE 4 HDI ...(your HDI has added 2d)...
