Make sure that is a 597ci HD DI model Dutch or your DI unit will not read the water depth correctly. Also; test it in the water not on land/air or the sonar will not read correctly.Quote:

I have my 597 finally working right again...it works much better when you have a good connection to the head unit. It seems that when I moved the 597 to the back of the boat I installed the cable support wrong:banghead and it wasn't allowing a solid connection to the transducer. Found this out at the lake Thursday when the power cord kept slipping down and the unit would not power on. Installed the support plate correctly and BOOM, it was reading depth correctly once again.
I feel like a dummy...its always the simple things that bite you in the hind end.
