Default HB 898C SI HD Combo 3rd Preset button always saving view

I have three views saved to the three preset buttons... lately, when I press the 3rd preset button to view a saved view, it doesn't switch view, but immediately saves current view. At first, I thought I was switching screen views to fast or something like that, but don't think that is the cause.

I tried changing views around, but didn't help. For now, I have moved the two views I use the most to the top two Preset keys and not using third Preset key. Don't have issue with top two Preset keys.

Can't really say this is a new problem because this is only my second year to crappie fish and first year to use electronics. Have just started using views and taking advantage of Preset buttons.

    Any idea?

It supposed to take an "extended button press" to set a view into 1 of the 3 preset buttons ... (Something like 2 seconds) ...

Are you saying a normal "quick button press" (less than 1 second) also sets a new preset view...but only on preset button #3 ... ??

No... It takes an extended button press to set a view per se. However, about 30% to 50% of the time when I press Preset button 3 to switch to that saved view, it IMMEDIATELY beeps and saves current view. I then have to go through View screens to get back to wanted view and then hold Preset button 3 for an extended amount of time to re-save wanted view.

    it's driving me nuts!!

This is just a thought ... but I've read of instances where the buttons can get caught under the bezel and make the unit do weird things that's not supposed to happen...

Can you replicate the issue enough to consciously feel (or hear) if the button may not be popping back up from its contact position...like it's getting caught under the bezel...??

I see nothing to indicate button problem. Unit less than year old. Going to keep looking around Internet to see if I can find cause or solution before calling HB. Hate to give unit up... really getting into this crappie fishin'.
