    Default Transducer cable splitter......

Ok, bare with me as this may be a lot of typing for nothing but here goes....

I have a 1648 War Eagle that I both hunt and fish out of. When duck season rolled around it was always a pain in the rear taking my trolling motor off the front so I bought one of the quick release brackets from Minn Kota to help me be more lazy!! What I didn't take into consideration was the fact that my transducer cable is attached to the trolling motor and the the connections are under the same plate I had to take off before so I really didn't help myself any by getting the quick release bracket. So my question is....

Is there anyway possible to splice the transducer cable that runs from the connections to the actual depth/fish finder? That way I could just disconnect them, tuck them under the plate and take the motor off without having to unscrew everything as before.

I know this is the lazy man's way out but with 5 kids I have tried to master the art of time saving when I can!!

Just buy a HB EC-W10 xducer extension cable and use this connection as your quick connect point...

    Humminbird | EC W10

I think 10ft is the shortest you can buy...

It is possible to cut and splice xducer cables...but very difficult to seal them in a way to keep water and RFI out...

That same EC W10 will work on the 798...

The cable collector in the 798 base would need to be taken apart to install the extension cable...

Yes RR. The extension cable will take the place of the transducer cable in the unit mount/base. Then you would plug the extension cable and transducer together.

I would wrap all of that extra cable up in a figure “8” to help minimize trolling motor interference.
