Default HDS 7 touch blinking screen!

7 touch got in Feb only used 5 maybe 6 times. Screen blinks on and off and every now and then will reset like it has been turned off.FYI; updated to the latest update 3.0, soft and hard reboot, 12.72+/-(.07) v at splice ,fuse and power pins on plug. Always resets when I turn key and sometimes will blink and or resest if I trim motor( resets for sure on trim up) sometimes blinks when trim down ......PS it worked fine the first 2-4 times I used it. Only thing i have not checked is Volts while running annd trim up down...A big big thanks in advance...

Sounds like a bad battery or connection somewhere. Have the battery load tested to eliminate it.

You have a voltage drop when you start or trim your motor. Check all connections and fuses to make sure they aren't corroded. With your volt meter on the df plug have someone crank the motor and see what the voltage is. Do this at the battery also. If all you connections are good and clean take your fully charged battery to NAPA or where ever you buy batteries and ask them to load test it, like Bill suggested. Luckily todays electronics aren't as sensitive to voltage drop as they were years ago, I killed an almost new X-75 once because of a bad battery.

I tested voltage and the only splice tested 12+v with motor not running and 9.83 w motor running or Trim up or down or aerator on. Battery full even changed to brand new battery....
Only thing I have not done is jump wires from battery to splice/ fuse link at ff.

Try a soft reset. I had a similar issue. Mine flashed at boot up then would shut down. I didn't have power problem.

do you have df wired straight to battery with fuse? it do not sound like battery but in a connection for it to do it when trim and still start motor easy, should be wired straight to battery, ofcoarse with fuse

I misread the voltage drop. I agree with the connection problem. If power is a home run, check for corroded fuse.
