After 20 years of being a confirmed HB guy. Been reading about the Garmins. Set up with Humminbirds 1198 , 899 , 360 and ILink terrova. Every thing on network.

Not really satisfied with performance of the birds to date. Tweaked and twiddled and setup never leaves me satisfied. I catch fish where it doesn't show any. At times I swear by my units that lakes are totally devoid of fish. But of course I know better.

If any of you remember the old paper graphs. I had a CH-30 for years. That thing was right on the money as far as finding fish. Almost broke down in tears when that thing finally died and HB no longer repaired. It had its problems but as far as a fish finding machine I have yet to see its equal.

Technology wise I am seriously disappointed. Will probably switch the 899 out for an Echomap DV 70 and purchase the GCV 10 box to enable SI.
