    What are your current settings:

    Sensitivity

    Contrast

    Colorline

Is this transducer mounted on the bow or transom ?

You mentioned down scan. Do you have Structure scan on the boat ?

Just noticed in the title it said HDI.

When I set my sensitivity, my test is to lower my drop shot rig down directly below the transducer. I will continue to lower the sensitivity until all that is showing is the 2 lines, which is the bait and the sinker. If I need more detail, I will raise my sensitivity some. Normally, this setting will allow you to see bait fish and predator fish and that's all I really care about. These units today are so powerful, they will pick up pollen in the water column.
