    Default Navionics questions

I bought a Navionics card recently because the website said that it had 2 of my local lakes listed on it. When I went to the 1st lake and switched the chart mode on my Lowrance HDS from the Lowrance map to the Navionics chip, the Navionics map was a ridiculous picture of the lake. So I surmised that this lake was really not on the card.

Well I went to another lake this past weekend that was supposed to be on the card and I got the same result. I will post a pic of the Lowrance chart and then the Naviionics chart.

Size: 54.9 KBAs you can see, the Navionics map on the right is unhelpful. The Lowrance on the left is great. Is there some other setting on the HDS unit that I must use to get a better picture from the Navionics map? thanks.

When you got the card, did you update it first before using it?

    Which card do you have?

This is a good place to get answers. http://www.bbcboards.net/lowrance-ga...-charting.html

Is it possible that you have the chart "zoomed in" past the available detail showing on the card for your particular lake...??

I wasn't sure about Navionics and Lowrance...

I've seen similar questions from HB users zoomed in on the Navionics map to the 20' and 10' zoom levels...

I have a S6 card. I went onto the Navionics website last night and it literally drove me crazy trying to navigate thru the site. It kept bringing me back to basically the same pages over and over. I worked on it for about an hour and could do nothing. I am very computer literate and have no problems navigating websites. This is the worst one I have ever encountered. I will have to call the company and ask for some guidance. I am very disappointed with this product. Both the product and the website . I'll keep you posted. Thanks for you comments.

First off, go to this site. http://www.navionics.com/en/webapp The Indian Creek reservoir near Alexandria, LA has very good detail, especially when you select "sonar charts". Personally I've never seen a Navionics map display a picture like yours. I'd almost have to think that what you are seeing is the Lowrance base map, and not a Navionics map. Your machine either isn't recognizing the Navionics card or your setting are wrong.

When you inserted the card into your unit did the unit upload the card , or even recognize the card.
