Default 2014 IPilot Terrova Poorly design ?

I just bought a 2014 Terrova 12 volt 55 pound thrust installing on a 2006 17.5 Basstracker. Is it just me or is it not designed well to be hanging over the edge so much I can only get 4 out of 6 bolts in? It should have more beef behind or another words the base longer.

That's been that way every since they came out with the power drive. I've installed many of them for people over the years and have never had to use all 6 holes. There has been times I had to drill some new holes so I always had at least 4 in it.

Thanks seems only 4 holes is enough to hold it.

Mine is installed with only 4 bolts, too. I just used biggest bolts that would fit and put some nylock nuts on.....it isn't going anywhere! I don't like the hangover tho because it gets into the loading ramp, etc. One of these days I can see some damage being done to it

I have mounted several with only 4 holes and never had trouble. you can buy a quick release Minnkota bracket with a slide to keep the motor from hanging over when you launch.

Get the sliding bracket.you will be glad you did. Used my original motor guide holes and will slide back to keep from hitting when you trailer it.

Four bolts should be plenty. Mine are backed up on the bottom/through side with good washers, fender washers.

You outboard, of considerably more HP and torque, probably only has 4 bolts.

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
