Lowrance LGC 3000 Antenna Testing

I purchased a used Lowrance unit with LGC 3000 Antenna all worked fine when I purchased it. When I hooked it all up I get a message "GPS NOT Responding". I all the connectors are configured as they were. My question is there a test procedure usin an Ohm meter etc. to see if the antenna is bad or I have other problems. Just dont want to buy a new one and it not solve my problem. Thanks for any suggestions.

Go into the menu and make sure the graph knows the antenna is there. There should be a gray/silver tag on the cable, look for these numbers listed on the graph then highlite.

what depth finder is it, had a 28 that did the same and never could be fixed, Lowrance said don't sent it back.

How are you powering the NMEA 2000, this depends on which unit you are running, if you aren't powering it you wont have a GPS antenna signal?

You posted while I was posting. do you have both power wires hot? there are 3 sets in the power cord and 2 of them have to be hot.

It is wired same as it was when the guy I bought it from had it wired there is a T ....one wire hooks to the graph to the T.... one wire from the T to antenna and a terminal end on the T

I think its in the power cord tho, you have one that is power for the unit and one that powers the NMEA which is the antenna and one that powers something else you will never use. The unit power and NMEA power cords both have to be connected to power.

I have it hooked up the same way it was when I checked everything before I bought it..... I will get my tester and check the antenna is getting power when I get the chance I will let you know what I come up with. I did find a trouble shooting guide at Lowrance site last night that shows which pins in the connectors should have power. Thanks so much for your suggestions
