    Default Eagle FishEasy 320c issues

Thanks for your guidance in advance. My little 2004 Eagle FishEasy 320c suddenly stopped working. I recently moved it from the console to the front of the boat with transducer on the trolling motor. Worked fine last trip. Unit will come on, but never acquires depth signal. First blush idea is the transducer. Is there any way to diagnose this BEFORE I order a new one, only to find out it was the unit and then can't return an un-needed transducer? Also, it is a 200mHz transducer. Shouldn't Lowrance's 200mHz transducers work? I may have one of those laying around here.

I know I can buy a new unit for not much more than a transducer. Please understand, me and my little buddy have fished together since 2004. Great little color unit, perfect for relocating an staying on top of my brush pile. He has pointed out to me most of the interesting and successful structure that I now fish. If possible, I want to keep him as a fishing partner.

Hard to part with a good buddy like that!

Is it a skimmer transducer? If so, I think I may have an old 200 kHz Lowrance skimmer in the boat house I could send you. Not sure though, say the word and I'll check and see.

Wal-Mart has them for $190 if all else fails.

First thing I would do is check cable at any point close to motor mounting for being pinched, and check where it goes into transducer. Everyone I have had do that I had pinched the cable into internally. They can be spliced pretty easy. If you can show us a picture of plug end of cable. I have a couple of Eagle/Low transducers that may or may not work.

BrownTrout, Yes, I'd love to keep it going. A replacement transducer is $59 + tax. It was a skimmer too. If you don't mind parting with the skimmer I'd like to buy it from you.

Well, I did find one. It's an old one and I'm not even sure what unit it went to. I think it was for an old X-50 or 60 or something like that which I used to attach to the side of the boat when fishing outpost camps in Canada. The tag on the cable says it's a Lowrance PT-WSBK Wide Angle skimmer. I'm pretty sure the transducer will work but I'm concerned that the connector might not work on your unit. If you want to give it a try let me know and I'll sent it out tomorrow. I'm heading to the lake to fish in about 5 minutes. Just need your name and mailing address for shipping.

Here is a pic of the transducer and connector. Does this look like it will work?

I can't tell from the picture but does it have a T shaped or V shaped slot in the rubber part to align it? I will check shop today and see what I have.

Guys, hold what you got for now. I tried the 200mHZ transducer from my Mark-4 unit and it worked on the Mark 4 but not on the Eagle FishEasy 320c. I'm now thinking it may be the unit rather than the transducer. I'm now looking for someone who still has a 320c on their boat. I'd like to send them my unit and let them mount it and see if it works on their proven-to-work system. That would probably be the best thing to do right now, just vet the unit to see if it works or not.

That sounds like a plan. If you determine you need one just send me a PM. Got a couple I could hook you up with one.
