Lowrance units

I'm a Humminbird user that is considering switching to Lowrance simply because of clarity in pics especially in di. My question....again I'm a Humminbird user, can you hook up a hds8 and elite 7 and make them communicate with each other like ethernet cable does with Humminbird? Thanks in advance for the info!

elite series is not Ethernet capable.
ALL HDS series units are Ethernet capable and can share sonar, Structure Scan, and WPT sharing.

You can link the two with the nmea cable. I have my touch 9 and elite 7 linked together BUT..... It only links when both units are turned on and will only share waypoints that are acquired while both units are turned on. It will not share mapping and yesterday I downloaded the waypoints from my old HDS 5 onto my 9 and they did not transfer to my 7 that way. Only works if you physically make a waypoint from one or the other
