    Default Through hull on aluminum

I've just got a HB 899 and my transducer for my smaller unit is in the way. I still need it for running down the water. Can I mount it on the inside of the boat. If so can I use the transducer that came with it or do I need to get something else. I don't care if it affects the picture or any thing else just as long as it will tell the depth.
    Thanks

It is doubtful the existing smaller xducer will work thru an aluminum hull....

    You have 2 options...well maybe 3...

    1. Alumaducer...I have no experience with... http://vexilar.com/products/index.php?prodNum=TB0023AU
    2. XNT 9 20 transom mount 2d xducer and the AS SIDB Y cable
    3. Use the stock xducer that came with the 899 and try to adjust the positioning to get high speed readings...

Why nor just get rid of the smaller unit and get all readings from the new unit?
