How did he come to this conclusion? I just replaced x4 today off my boat actually. the x4 came with my boat, and served me well for first year until I could step up to different unit. My boat is Tracker 175. I installed Humminbird 386ci DI yet to test it, hopefully get on water Wed.

The x4 is the entry level FF that comes on just about all the tracker boats that have a FF in the base package. Decent FF/DF, but could do better for same if not just a little bit more $$. Go to a cabelas or BPS and punch some buttons and watch the simulations on the ones they have displayed, go from there.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Not as " high tech" as some of the others, but it'll get the job done.

i fish really small rivers and lakes, so the gps function isn't required for my needs.

Dont be scared off by the price, it's definitely 10x the machine of any 2d machine. I'm constantly amazed by the images I get of lay downs, sunken barges, bait schools, and drop offs.
