    can I use the Humminbird 581i HD head unit on a 598 c HD SI transducer? Want to be able to switch the units back and forth from console to trolling motor.

    Yes but the SI piezoes of the HDSI will not be connected to allow you to see SI on the 581c HD...

    The 581c HD will still only be 2d...
