Default Question about Humminbird Lowrance cards and compatability

I have a hummingbird and just got me an HDS8 and haven't tried or looked but I've got a Lakemaster and a Navionics for the hummingbird... Will either of these work in my HDS8???? I'm pretty sure the lakemaster won't but was hoping the Navionics would. I haven't checked into it. I didn't know if they was for either brand or not or even if they take the same side sd card. Probably NO but was hoping the Navionics chip might. And wasn't sure what size or kind of card I need to record images I make with the HDS.

Is the Navionics the SD version? If it is yes it'll work. The lakemaster I don't think so.

I think older Lakemaster cards will work in the HDS series, the new cards will NOT.

I don't know it's small it may be a smaller size sd card. I bought them for a 998 hd si..... what I was wondering if there was a difference, I don't know much about these cards. If there are big cards and small cards it's the small card. A quick expaination on the difference if there is any, and what I need to buy to save my screenshots to from my hds8 so I can post would be great.

Ok I'll give you my best shot. I don't know about the Lakemaster since I've never seen one in person but the current Nav card comes on a micro sd card and you have to use a sd adapter for it. (It comes with it when you purchase it) By the way you explained it, it sounds like Lakemaster is also on a micro sd card and if it is you will need a micro sd to regular sd card adapter.

As far as recording pics and such. You will need any card up to 32gb, i use a 4 and a 8 because they are fairly cheap to purchase. When you take a screen shot (you will have to ask how over on BBC how to do this since the last updates changed how it's done) it will be saved to "internal". When done fishing you will have to scroll to the "files" page and import the screenshots to the sd card.

if you want to record sonar logs then you will be asked where you want them to record to, make sure you "log all channels" so it will playback all 3 options (SI,DI & sonar)

OK thanks a lot, I was afraid my navionics wouldn't work because it was too small... that answered all my questions.

Didn't think about the Navionics being a micro sd and I have two of them. Jimmy the micro is about the size of you little finger nail, or at least mine. If you don't have the adpter just go to wal mart and buy the cheapest micro you can find and use the adapter. The adapter looks just like a regular sd card but you look closely you will see the lot for the small card to go.

Yeah sorry if I misled you Jimmy. As Justin mentioned, go find yourself an adapter. They can't cost very much and the micro just slips inside of the adapter. Piece of cake.... I wish I had a pic to show you but I don't.

I don’t know which Humminbird unit you have, but all of them so far have used the full sized (Standard) SD memory cards – not the miniSD or microSD cards.

    Some dimensions for you:
    Standard: 1.260×0.945×0.083 in
    Mini: 0.846×0.787×0.055 in
    Micro: 0.591×0.433×0.039 in

Here Jimmy this will end your confusion.

The left card is the regular sd card. The little one is the micro sd. If you have a Navionics card then you have the micro built into the full size sd.
