I have a stick steer boat and was wondering if buying the second transducer for the TM and putting them on a switch is worth the price. Will i get the same results from my unit?

A lot of guys use this same setup because of lack of funds for a second unit...

I also have a stick steer. Have a 998 mounted next to my right knee on a swivel bracket. Have a Monochrome unit mounted right in front of me running through the transducer installed on my terrova. I have thought about mounting another ducer to trolling motor but then if you want to mark structure and be accurate I would have to buy and mount a second GPS puck next to trolling motor. In your case you could mark off your internal GPS since it is close to the troller but for good accuracy when marking spots while searching with rear ducer then you need a puck installed over rear ducer for accuracy. Could be wrong but for both us looks like another 150. To 200 bucks to do it and do it right. Just my 2 cents for the money it would take to do all that just save some more penny's and buy a 600 series to mount on front on the troller. Or a good used 5 series.
