Problem with HB 597 HD DI Sonar

Love my HB 597 but encountered a problem this week. Down Imaging works fine but sonar will not show the bottom. Plugged into my HB 581 port and unit worked fine. I'm thinking my transducer is jacked up but wanted to see if anyone else has run into this problem. Thanks for any input.

Is the other unit a 581 or a 581 DI...??

You hooked the 597 DI onto the 581 xducer...??

Which sonar (on the 597 DI unit)... worked with the 581 xducer....2d - DI - or both ... ??

581 DI. Both units have same power connections & transducers. When I hooked the 597 up to the 581 both 2d sonar and Di worked but when I hook it back to the 597 transducer the 2d sonar on the 597 doesn't work, just has red line at top and will not show bottom contours. Thanks.

Try "Restore Defaults" under the Setup tab...

Could be just settings out of whack...

Then test in the water ...(and get pix of what you are seeing)...

You can try connecting the 581 DI unit up to the 597ci DI’s transducer just as a double-check but it sounds to me like the 2D sonar part of the 597ci DI’s transducer has gone bad and it will need to be replaced.

Superteach...

Before you contact HB...open the Sonar Xpress menu and make sure the "Lower Range" setting is in "Auto"...(if this setting got changed to a manual depth setting shallower than the actual water depth...the 2d image would not show the bottom)...
