N2K questions
I started to install my new HDS8 LSS2 unit and uncovered my old N2K connector for the LGC3000 ant which served my Global map 5200C. It has one four way connector with ant in and out, with a dummy load on each end. The old network power wire is on the down stream cable that goes into the global map.
I want to upgrade to the point 1 antenna and run the global map and the HDS8 from the one antenna. So I would obviously need the antenna which is supposed to come with one T connector and a four foot cable which should be long enough for me. I now assume I would need a N2K starter kit mainly for the power node since the old setup was powered through the 5200C cable. So now do I also need a new cable for the 5200C or can I just dead end the old power wire? Or will the power back feed from the 5200c and power the network without having to buy the power node/starter kit?
