Default HB 899ci SI vs 999ci SI

Can someone list the differences between a Humminbird 899ci SI and 999ci SI, other than $500 and a 1" difference diagonally in the screen.

    Thanks

Yes it is as is the processor.

The 999 comes with the larger HDSi transducer that is capable of 800kHz Si/Di sonar along with the 455kHz Si/Di and 200/83kHz 2D sonar.
The 899 comes with the smaller CSi (Compact Side Imaging) transducer that is only capable of the 455kHz Si/Di and 200/83kHz 2D sonar. The 455kHz Si/Di sonar will be less detailed as well owing to the shorter Si/Di elements inside the transducer (you can exchange the new and unused CSi transducer + hardware for a new HDSi transducer through the Humminbird Customer Resource folks).

The processor in the 999 is faster than the one in the 899 and will allow it to use the Navionics Platinum mapping cards (the 899 cannot use these).

What about the larger transducer mounted on a Minn Kota Terrova. Is it too big? Also have a. 998ci SI on the console.

How big a difference is the compact images to the HD images. I just ordered an 899 and wondering if I needed to do the exchange.
