Default The time has come to upgrade - looking for suggestions

    Hi
Newbie here - I have a 2010 G3 V172 w/ Yamaha F90 and thanks to my wonderful wife a nice new Minn Kota Terrova w/ i-pilot and US2 arrived for Christmas. The boat came stock with a Garmin 145 fish finder which I plan to move to the bow and connect it to the TM US2 transducer freeing up the dash for an upgrade. Thinking of a short term solution that might last a year or two before I move it to the bow and get a really nice large screen unit for the dash (dreaming of the 1100 series from HB). The plan would be to network the two together in the future. Back to reality - I want a "small" color display w/ integrated GPS, DI and SI that can in the future be linked to the trolling motor when mounted up front. Might even want to have some sort of interface to a Cannon down rigger "down the road".

Not sure why but my preference so far is a Humminbird - that said looking for any and all suggestions from you experts
Don't really care if it's last years make or model or even being discontinued - just think in a few years today's models will be obsolete. The current buget constraints keep me from doing the entire "future" upgrade at this point in time so am forced to do it in smal managable steps.

    Thanks for the suggestions

Humminbird if you want to eventually link to trolling motor with Ilink. Best advice I can give you is call Brian at BBGMarine. Explain your situation to him and he may have some 898,798, hold over's for good prices. He is sponsor on here and great guy to do business with. He won't steer you wrong just to make a sale.

The 598 is not networkable...thus 1 of the reasons it's cheaper than its brother the 798ci HD SI Combo...
