    Default Thanks Lowrance

I purchased my HDS 12 in August while Lowrance had the "Purchase any HDS Gen2 Touch and get all 3 free" promotion going on. The free items were a Point 1 antenna, Insight Genesis Premium and Insight Planner software. I sent my rebate information in on August 21, my stuff came today. All three items were in the box plus a NMEA starter kit. I didn't expect the starter kit, there was no mention of it in any of the info on the rebate. Thanks Lowrance.

I have a HP combo (4"screen) and recently got a Lowrance Elite 7 HDI. My only complaint so far is the refresh rate on the GPS. If I am running more than about 10MPH the screen goes blank for about 5 to 10 seconds before it displays the current section of the map. It is like it can't keep up with the speed of the boat.
The HB never does this, both have internal antennaes.

Justin, I received mine today also with the starter kit. I had already purchased one from Brian so I would be ready. Like you said, no mention that it would be part of the rebate.

All is well. I guess I can sell the other starter kit.

That's not normal. Make sure you have the latest update. It should be ver 2.0

I have the latest update loaded. Hoped it would make a difference but it didn't. It does the same thing when I change the zoom setting. Each time I press the zoom in or out, the screen goes blank for about 5 or 10 seconds before it shows the zoomed view.

I can tell you for a fact the HDS has a different GPS system than the Elite Series. The Point 1 and the 4000 will work on the Elite 7. I already have a point 1 on the stern and can see a difference in the refresh rate on the maps over the 4000.
