Default Problems Transferring Humminbird waypoints to Lowrance touch

I've read just about every post on here relating to moving my 898 hummingbird waypoints to my Lowrance and I can't seem to find the answer. So I'm hoping somebody here can help. I'm using the program "Babel", Input is hummingbird--Output is Lowrance USR version 4--Browse for the "matrix" file--Hit convert and it tells me I have an invalid "longitude". Anybody's help would be appreciated as I've been working on this for a couple of days. I really think I'm making this much harder than it actually is. Thanks!

Do you have HB PC? If so, convert the HB waypoints to GPX then try babel from GPX to Low. Just a thought.

Tried converting just the GPX file as well. It just gives me an error.

DC ... if all else fails, you might have to manually convert them to the GPS version that Lowrance units understand. I used this site to do just that : GPS Coordinate Converter, Maps and Info

KDFWR put out waypoints for Green River Lake, but they were in a different version than what my Lowrance E5DSI would accept. I wrote down the coordinates off the webpage, then ran them through the converter & wrote down the "GPS" version, then manually punched them into my unit. Did over 100 coordinates, start to finish, in about 3hrs. (plus I still have the waypoint coords written down, in case I accidentally remove some/all)

Luckily I have a extra power/tdx cord & jumper battery ... so I could sit on the couch & do all of this, and not have to be in the boat !!

    ... cp

Have you tried to convert them to .usr version 2?

Looks like I may just start typing coordinates into the lowrance.....was trying to avoid this.

I have tried version 2 as well.

I has some issues with HB waypoints, just can't recall. I believe I used HB PG to save the wits as GPX. Then, I opend and closed easy GPS then, I converted GPX to Low. This was a problem I had with OZIEXPLORER. You might try this. I converted all my HB to Low, but just can't remember all the maneuvering.

Try using OziExplorer. It will convert most. If all else fails send me the chip and I can do it for you. I have over 5000 waypoints and I do not need yours. Just trying to help. NavPlanner 2 works also.

OZI has no selection for HB. HB treats their "tracks" different by generating .ht files. HB "waypoints & routes" are .hwr files. Maybe you need to separate your tracks from the waypoints and routes and see if babel will work with waypoints and routes. Of course, if you have no tracks, it would be a futile effort.

    Just a thought.
