Default Lowrance Global Map 5200C Question

I use the 5200C to store and find all of my brush piles and have a lot of them. So I figure it is time I back them up in case something happens. Page 55 of the manual shows how to do this the only thing that concerns me is the use of the word transfer. Which would lead me to think it would remove them from the unit and install them on the SD card which is not really what I want to do. So am I over thinking this I'm not willing to gamble much with these way points.

GPS data is stored in internal board memory. When you transfer waypoints, you are either sending the waypoints to a MMC or getting waypoints from the MMC. To remove waypoints from internal memory, you have to use the delete waypoint function.

Most Lowrance units work similar in file transfers of waypoints.

I would have felt better if they would have used the word copy instead of transfer.

OK, copy. But the legend in the menu panels usually say transfer (to/from MMC).

I have never read the 5200 manual. But, what I posted is the way Lowrance does other stuff. So, I doubt they changed anything on the 5200 just to make folks paranoid. Some of the newer stuff does use copy FYI.
