Default Lowrance Point 1 GPS antenna

I posted this on another site and figured it might be of some use here. My new point one came today so I pulled the boat outside and plugged it up. Since I already had a LGC 4000 I thought I'd see if there were any differences in how many satellites they would pick up. There are several trees around where I was parked and my shop was close too. I sat the Point 1 right next the 4000 when testing. I repeated the test three times and the results were the same. Your mileage may vary.

The internal antenna on my Gen 1 HDS 8 was first.
    9 satellites, EPE of 29.5-31.2'.

    LGC 4000
    10 satellites, EPE of 21.6-23.5'.

    Point 1
    12 satellites, EPE 12.8-13.4'.

Haven't had it out, I just got it yesterday. I think 12 is the most it can pick up though.

I've seen EPE's as low as 7ft. but I would say 9ft. is a good average.

A gun, like any other source of power, is a force for either good or evil, being neither in itself, but dependent upon those who possess it

Black round connector (NMEA2000) network. But, of course, you have to add stuff to make the netwwork work. Endless gouging.
