    Default lowrance linking question

Hey guys. My dad has a lowrance lms-520c on his transom. And is looking to upgrade to a side imaging and move his current unit to the bow. We were wondering if they are compadible and will share GPS coords with the Ethernet cable. Looking at the hds7 or 8. Thanks guys

They are compatible, and can share transducers over the Ethernet, but to share waypoints they need a NMEA 2000 network.

It's the standard network that GPS devices use. If the 520 has GPS, there is already a NMEA 2000 network connecting the LGC3000 to the unit. You can expand it to connect to the HDS.
