Default Bow and Stern mounted depth finders?

I bought a older 13ft fiberglass boat that has a Eagle Fishmark 480 mounted next to the rear seat, with the transducer mounted on the right side of the transum. Problum is when I fish alone I normally sit in the front seat and run the front troller, and miss having sonar up there! I was thinking about upgrading to a newer model and wondered if its possable to run 2 fish finders one mounted upfront and one in the rear, or would having 2 transducers cause havic?

Tom, not sure I can help. The eagle should have a 200 htz transducer covering about a third of the depth( 20 ft of depth = 6.33 bottom coverage) therefore if you get another finder with a 200 htz transducer, water would have to be than 20 ft or deeper to cause problems. If you purchased a finder with a 83/200 dual beam transducer you could use the 83 htz frequency. Same frequencies sometime interfere with each other. You could always cut off the rear finder when fishing from the bow since it will not be of any use, telling you where you have been. This is only a guess . The true test is to try it out. Good Luck..... crappie1133

Any time 2 xducer's are close enough together for their respective sonar beams to overlap...and they are both operating at the same frequency...crosstalk interference can be a problem....

    This is just a possibility...not a definite...

Sometimes each unit can be set to run separate frquencies to eliminate this...

Whether your setup will experience this will not be known until you try it and see what happens....then go from there...
