Tom, not sure I can help. The eagle should have a 200 htz transducer covering about a third of the depth( 20 ft of depth = 6.33 bottom coverage) therefore if you get another finder with a 200 htz transducer, water would have to be than 20 ft or deeper to cause problems. If you purchased a finder with a 83/200 dual beam transducer you could use the 83 htz frequency. Same frequencies sometime interfere with each other. You could always cut off the rear finder when fishing from the bow since it will not be of any use, telling you where you have been. This is only a guess . The true test is to try it out.
