    Default 12 volt power supply

I need a 12 volt power supply so I can hook up my Hummingbird 798 in my house. I am not looking for an expensive supply just something I can use with my Hummingbird. I want to be able to learn how to use it without it being on the boat. I want to look at instructional videos on Youtube and learn. Thanks

I used a portable jumper battery like this one : Schumacher Instant Power Jump Starter: Automotive : Walmart.com to power my Lowrance Elite 5DSI "in home". I had an emulator program downloaded, in order to "play" with all the bells & whistles of the unit ... but, unfortunately, it contained features for "all" of the Elite 4 & 5 units, and confused me as to what was on my unit & not on my unit. That's when I elected to use the jumper battery, which I was already using for emergency vehicle jump starts & power (boat/vehicle), as well as running black/white lights in the boat for night fishing. I cannot recommend this particular jump battery, as it isn't powerful enough to last more than a few hours of continuous draw (from 2 blacklight units) ... but it's more than adequate for running my E5DSI unit within the confines of my home.

BUT >>>> you will need a extra power cable to hook into the unit & any 12V power source you may choose. I just happened to have had one included in the deal, when I purchased the unit from a member of this site.

    ... cp

I use a transformer that plugs into the wall for my 798 c si. It is 12v. 1.0 A . Make sure it is fused.
