Are all Terrovas this noisy?

The only thing I have to compare it to is the 20 year old MotorGuide that was on the boat originally. It was silent. This Terrova sounds like a transmission full of gravel. Kind of hard to sneak up on a fishing spot like this.

Does the head lean that much as in the picture. It looks like it is not straight up and down when deployed. have you hit anything with it? I've got one and its quite as a mouse in church.

No jimp, the trolling motor is straight, camera was crooked.

The noise grows from start, where it's going too low an rpm to really make a noise, to 5 1/2-6 1/2 where its the loudest on it's way to 10 where it's quieted out some. It literally sounds like several gears out of alignment until I realize theres no gears.

It hasn't been hit on anything, only the second time out with it this year. It sounds (no pun) like I'll be contacting MinnKota.

Have you pulled the prop off and checked the spindle to make sure it is turning true ?

No that is not normal. If it is brand new, I would ask for a replacement.

Mine is not loud running, only steering is noisey.
