No reason why the small battery should not work just fine. Just a thought, I have a 35 amp deep cycle battery in my golf cart, not the kind you ride in, this is a 3 wheel cart that carries just my bag. It is good for 36 holes so it should power a DF for many hours with no problem. Places like Batteries Plus carry them.

    Hey Jigflinger,
Who makes that one? It is a little stronger than the one I am using on my cart. It is 7 years old so I may have to replace soon. I have not seen that one before. Only question is the dimensions since it has to fit in a fitted slot on my cart.
    Thanks

Think it's made by Gould. Same demensions as a lawn mower battery. I get them at Academy Sports. About $40.

Wow that is good to know. We been paying $85 to $100 for ours. Never knew they made a marine deep cycle that small. I will check them out.
    Thanks

    To the OP:

Check out the 12v deer feeder batteries at cabelas, acdemey sports, gander mtn. etc. Not sure of how much power those Elite 7's pull, but I had an Elite 5 pro dual beam on one of the deer feeder batteries last summer, and could go 3 or 4 trips before I even thought about charging it. I plan on running a Mark 4 color with gps soon on this, so the may cut it down to 2 trips before charging but not bad imo. Charger and battery for $30-35, and less than 10 lbs.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
