I have a navionics premium map card ,I have a 788 ci combo ,and a 998 hd si ,it says on the box it has xd contour maps in it ,but I put my navionics in my 998 and just went fishing ,my question is .Is the xd contour map as good as the navionics map should I put the card back in my 788 ,I looked back a few pages and couldn't find any other info on it ...

Time on the water is the answer unless someone here has the same set up. You can change the unit back and forth between the 2 and compare them. Here on our COE lakes Navionics sux until the fish move back out then its pretty good. Find yself using the insight maps in my Lowrance most of the time.

Even tho it is Navionics mapping I don't think the base map will have the detail the full chip does...
Like Rees said...look at the same area on both the base Contour XD and the Navionics chip and compare the detail....
