    Question HDS5 Gen 1

That will work with the structure scan, correct?

Yes it will, though there was an update required to use it when the SS first came out. 3.5 IIRC but I'm not positive.

One other question then. I'm replacing a Gen 1 HDS 5 with HDS 7 Gen 2. All the connectors appear to be exactly the same. I'm moving the 5 up front. Can I use the old cables on the new unit and vice versa? It would save me a lot of work if that's possible. Thanks, Mike.

FisherMike, I went from a X510c to a HDS 7 Gen 2 to a Elite HDI 7. Used the same power cables and same transducers(hst-wsbl). I would ask Lowrance, but I think you are O.K. Good Luck..... crappie 1133

Gen 1 and Gen 2 use exactly the same cables, so you are good to go.

Took me about eight hours today to get my old 332 graph and puck off. Then reinstall the 5 up front and the 7 with the structure scan installed at the helm. EVERYTHING WORKS!!!!!!!!.
Now just mount the Transducer, run a Ethernet cable between the two and tie up some cables out of the way. Ready to go.
Now just wait for decent weather
