    Default Humminbird Question

Howdy, I just bought a bought with two Humminbird fish finders on it. I would like to switch one of them out fora GPS/Sonar combo unit.

I have a Pirana Max 215 on the console, and a 535 up front with a trolling motor transducer.

I am OK with the 535 up front, but would like to have the GPS capability at the console.

#1 Will the 535 work with the transducer that is already in the boat from the P-Max 215 (fiberglass boat, shoot thru hull setup)?

#2 Is there a GPS/Sonar combo unit that will work with the transducer that's already in the boat?

    Thanks

#1 Yes, the 535 will work off of the PMax 215’s transducer.

#2 Most of our “2D” (conventional) sonar units will work off of this 535’s of PMax 215’s transducer. Just make sure that the unit you are looking at uses both the 200kHz and 83kHz sonar frequencies. If you are not sure; just post back here, e-mail me or try calling the Humminbird Customer Resource folks to see if it will work or not.

Thanks, I went on the HUmminbird site and dug around and figured out that their transducers are pretty well interchangeable until you get into the DI and SI locators.

I ended up buying a 570 (hi-res grayscale) locator for the console, and will run the 535 up front. For now anyway ...
