new 1198 gps will not work

installed my new 1198 tdy gps will not work says not connected i have the new puck with the hs in it
but when i hook up the eithernet cable it will work off my 998 on the front but when you unkoot ethernet cable or cut off 998 i quts working[ again the[/LIST]
hs reciver was working good when i removed my 1197 coul a reciever go bad this quick

Check your software version..

The AS GPS HS antenna must have 6.600 or higher...

When you start your unit up hit the "Menu" button and select System Status or go into your "Views" in the menu and make the window visible. The screen will tell the software version.

when you turn it on, it should show the software version as its booting up. It shows on my 997 on startup

At least you aren't like me and bought the AS GRP puck which is listed as compatible for a 728. However, it will only work with that unit when they release software version 6.3 and it's currently only 6.250 and they have no answer on when they will update it for the the 728. They are selling something as being compatible when it really isn't at this time. The older ASGR50 puck worked fine but is no longer sold.

Just hang on to it st041....

I promise you will be very satisfied with the slow speed Heading Sensor when you are finally able to use it...

That is the GPS-HS GPS Receiver Rickie.
The GRP GPS Receiver does not have the heading sensor in it.

Call Humminbird back and see if they will swap you out with a GR16 which will work with your 728 without a software update.
