I found Hummingbird 110 Fishing Buddy depth finders on sale at Walmart for $99. I fish mostly out of a canoe, sometimes out of a kayak, and sometimes out of flatbottoms we have chained up at oxbows here and there. I have been looking for a standalone fish finder, and although this is a pretty basic unit it would be better than nothing. The price is right considering I am on a bit tight budget for a while. Just depth alone would be good, and the ability to see kinds of structure would be even better. Some of the images online seem to indicate that you can pick up structure with this unit.
Has anyone used one of these units and what are your opinions on them?

Thanks for the info! A lot of the place I fish have a lot of natural structure, cyprus tops and such. I would like to be able to find this structure in the deeper water.
They had a bunch of them so I may wait a week and see if they drop the price anymore. The original price was $119, 20% off isn't bad but since they have so many, might go down more.
Got one that works great but I just dont use it that I will let you have for 70 shipped if you are interested shoot me a pm. They work geat and are very versitile.

I use one for checking under my boat dock. My underwater camera is a pain when trying to look under the dock floats.
Thanks Wilbur.

It's a decent unit, portable, light, shows depth, structure and temp. I use it on small lakes and ponds. I'd definately check out that $70 deal Rees Guide has out there for ya. Saving 30 bucks plus tax.
