Humminbird 596c HD DI

I've been wanting to get a color unit for a while, and the 596c HD DI appears to be what I'm looking for. I've been searching the internet, and I've noticed that the units have varying names printed on the front. The ones I've seen say "596c HD DI Sonar", "596c HD Sonar", or "596c HD Down Imaging." Why are the names different? Production year?

We have made the following 596 model units. They are all different:
596c – 640V x 480H pixel color LCD unit with 200/83kHz Dual Beam 2D (conventional) sonar.

596c HD – 640V x 640H pixel color LCD with 200/83kHz DualBeam Plus sonar.

596c HD DI – 640V x 640H pixel color LCD with 455/200kHz Dual Beam 2D sonar plus 455/800kHx Down Imaging sonar.

I did a Google Image search for the 596c HD DI and I, (also) got images of units with markings on the front of the unit...some saying 596c HD DI...some saying 596c HD Down Imaging...

Just be sure the unit you purchase has "DI" or "Down Imaging" in the model name....

If it doesn't say either one....it's a 2d only unit....

I have the 596c HD DI on the front of my boat and love it,, you won't be disappointed if you go that route....
