Humminbird Software 6.600, 6.590, 6.580 and 6.570‏ ?????

Guys down loaded the new Software yesterday on to my 1198, not good ! I waited about a 4 or 5 weeks before I did to let the bugs get fixed, So HB sents me an E-mail says All fixed Now, NOT ! After I got it down loaded everything looked great started to go back and set my unit up and it started skipping parts of the menu and changing screens on me ? I turned unit off And Waited, ON And started setting up one more time , samething happened,
SO put Old Software back on and everything back good , LOL , SO is anyone having this happen to them ?? on the Upgrade ? Or just me? Now I was not on Water Just setup at Home, But the download looked great to start with, just started to do things on it's own , LOL, Think I will Keep My old Software on my unit for now unless you guys can tell something I can do to fix the new upgrade ?

just put the 6.6 in my 898 last night, turned it on in sim mode and worked fine, didnt do anything else. hope mine still works. ill have to try my settings

Mine looked good also for awhile, hope yours stays thay way mine didn't , but was able to put the old software back on go to go now.

Harleyboy....before you updated.....did you...?...:

*Export all Nav data
*Format all Nav directories (or Delete all Nav data)
*Remove any mapping cards
*Restore Factory Defaults
*Full format the SD card before loading the .bin file to it
*Have nothing but the .bin update on the SD card
*Power the unit on before inserting the SD card with the update on it

After the update finished....did you...?...:

*Restore Factory Defaults

After I finished the 6.6 I did not Restore Factory Defaults, but I didn't do that after I Put my old update on it and everything seemed too work right ? but everything else I did

Something else to try with the new software is to wait 30 seconds after the disclaimer screen before you start pushing anymore buttons.

Tried it again , Like I say it looks good to start with but when I get about 1/2 way into my set up it starts changing screens on me, on its on , Defauled it and let it sit awhile , went back without doing any setup tried to take off some of the screen veiws they would stay off awhile then be back, shut unit off , then on go in to sim. mode, unit would come on then shut off then on ?
then I let it boot by itselve then but my old software on and everything is back norm,May try again later my HEAD is hurting me now! LOL

Last one I have is 5.700 on my 1198, Don't seen to have the 6.490 ? were can I get it and whats the diff. in it and the 5.700 ??

I don't really know the difference between 5.700 and 6.490 but it seems like everything after 6.490 has some sort of issues on the 1198c. I got my 6.490 from a board member on Bass boat central forum. The file is too big and cannot be sent by email. You can maybe contact humminbird to see if they can send it to you. I sold my 1198c not too long ago so I don't really keep up with humminbird anymore.
