Default Loading waypoints into HB 798 ?

I loaded waypoints from Humminbird PC to a SD card. With the 798 on a 12 power supply and with no transducer attatched, the 798 would load the waypoints, but the unit when power cycled would lose them. I also noticed that it would lose the advanced user/normal user setting and the time zone setting (probably other settings as well).

I then installed the unit on the boat with transducer attatched and all saved as I assumed it should. Is this normal, or is there something I should do to as it boots up without the transducer such as select normal mode?

There are 2 separate "Simulator" programs in the unit...

    1. The "Point of Sale Simulator" where the unit is powered on with no Xducer attached and the unit is allowed to enter the "Simulator" by itself....(any changes made to the unit in this "Point of Sale Simulator" mode will not be saved...)

    2. The "Forced Simulator" mode where the unit is powered on and then simulator is selected with the 4way cursor...(any changes made to the unit while in the "Forced Simulator" mode will be saved in the unit)...

Did you mistakenly use the "Point of Sale Simulator"....??

I'm guessing I probably did Rickie. I think I just let it default through startup. I'll run it again inside and see what happens.

    Thanks Rickie.

It does save when I hit the menu button and cursor to normal.

I think the waypoints should also save if you hit menu and then cursor to "Simulator".... This is the "Forced Simulator" mode that should save any changes to the unit...

You should even be able open a chart view and mark waypoints anywhere on the chart and the unit save them in this "Forced Simulator" mode....
