Default Black/White vs Color Fish Finders

I'm wondering what FF anglers think the advantages/disadvantages are of using both. I've learned about the color FF that the darker the red of the bottom means it's a harder bottom, such as clay. I have a 365i GPS?FF Combo Humminbird and the darker the grey/black means the harder bottom. Would it be an advantage to upgrade to a color FF?
Luck has nothing to do with it, it's how you wiggle your worm.

I don't know, I kind of skipped the whole color thing until I upgraded to a HDS unit.
If you already have a good grasp of what you're looking at w/ B&W, I don't think color would matter that much.

Have to disagree...a good grasp of B/W prepares you to take the next step into color...there is so much more there to learn...consider it graduate school.

I dunno, I (and alot others) caught fish with flashers, then we caught fish w/B&W locators and now we catch fish with color, SI DI or whatever.
The units are just tools, 2 people using the same unit could get different results. A lot depends on the user. I'd rather have a good B&W than a cheap color.
    Just sayin

Color is soooooo much easier to see on bright sunny days. I know I'll never go back to a monochrome unit.
