Default Need to see pics of fish finder showing crappie and bait fish

    Hey guys,
I am having a hard time interpreting what my fish finder is showing on the screen. My fish finder is not a side scan or 3d model but is color. Can someone post some pics of what bait fish and crappie look like on the screen?

    Thanks for the help.

Youtube is your friend. Lots of vids on how to read a sonar unit. You can spends hours looking at them and it will help even if its not your unit they are showing.

you also check out the SI/DI section of this forum and there will be some screen shots of the same spot in 2d/si/di which would help in determining what you are seeing in 2d from your FF.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

I really like this screen shot. What is the difference between the top part that is color and the bottom that is black? The top one shows fish icons and the bottom one shows just spots.

    Kosmo,
This picture is like what I am seeing on my unit. What I want to know, in your upper screen shot, what is the solid yellowish red glob just to the left of the fish? Looking at your bottom picture it looks like bait fish but I have seen other screen shots that identified the glob, upper screen shot, as cover such as brush. What do you think?

    Thanks for offering your help.
