I think it just comes with a Base Map but has a slot for map card.

I know the Elite 5 doesn't come with one so I'm sure Cray is right.

They both have a card slot for a miniSD card. I bought my Elite 4 last year during a Bass Pro promotion and it came with a Fishing Hotspots card. I doubt if there is any of them left anywhere. There is a couple more maps out there that will work in it. Check Lowrance web site for the info.
By the way I really like mine.
    Good Luck.

Depends on whether you fish small or larger lakes. I think if you fish larger I personally think it is a must have.

Personally I would not be without a map system because they show so many things on them, contours/depth linesplot a,fish attractors, loading ramps etc.

They also enable you to pre-plot a course before you go to a strange lake.

I have not used the Lakemaster you were talking about so do not know anything about it. Maybe some other members will chime in with some help.

Also try going to the main forum and look in the electronics section and they may be a post the about the maps cards and some tips on your unit.

Is there any differences in the lake features in the brand of lake card you get.Because me and my dad are wanting to fish some bigger and better lakes than are hometown lake, which is small, and we don't want to go to a unknown lake to us and try to fish.We could get lose and come home empty handed, but with a card we could see were we are going and were some good spots are.

No, Nabob ... it does not. It just comes with a base map. But, there may be some lakes on the base map that have a few contour lines. My E5DSI comes with a base map, but there are some contour lines on Taylorsville Lake (7ft-17ft-27ft).

Navionics has some map chips that are compatible with your unit : http://www.navionics.com/sites/www.n...an13th2013.pdf

Look thru the last few pages of my thread on the E5DSI (sticky post @ top of page) ... you will find some links to a operations manual that you can print out, and links to an update that may add some more features to your unit. Just be sure the update is for the Elite 4 !! You'll also find a link to purchase a blank micro SD card & reader for ~ $6-$7 tyd. You'll need it to do the update, plus you can download screenshots onto the card & then into your computer ... then post them on here !!
