    Question Picture for jason gilstrap


    Why is my ssi locking up like this some days it will do it once some days it will do it a dozen times. Temp or depth dosent seem to bother itName:  photo[1].jpg

    1. Do you have the latest software in your HDS unit?
    2. Can you take picture of your lss-1 transducer and show how its mounted.
    3. try a different ethernet port on your lss box.
    4. also take it off auto range on the left and right scan. see if that helps too.

    5. by change can you borrow another ethernet cord..if so, try running that one between the box and the unit.

    Scotty, is your transducer mounted on the TM? I see some oscillations on the screen that shouldn't be there unless it is TM mounted. The oscillations would be where the white line widen on the SI. Just curious.

    That could be the TM noise that may be causing the problem. Not sure. Check the next time out and see if the oscillations appear when engaging the TM. Noise can lock the unit on occasion.

    nothing else is running when this happens sometimes

    Something is going on causing that disturbance on the screen. My observation only.

    I think your lss transducer is picking up the 2d transducer..going by your picture..
