The 570 DI I bought in June decided to act up, so I got on the phone with Humminbird to arrange repair. I've heard good things about them, and can say that it is true I had a good conversation with the lady from customer service. Thought I'd pass it along.

I was wondering what kinda problems you were having...depth keeps jumping around on mine...be in 10 ft of water and it starts jumping around anywhere from 300 ft. to 900 ft. Have to shut off to correct and then it will start in agin![]()
Crappie.......its whats for dinner!!
Buckwheat1,
Do you have another sonar unit running on your boat at the same time as the 570 DI unit?
What software version are you running in your 570 DI unit?
I was having issue with 455khz even in simulation. ive seen the jumping issue like u with another sonar probably from air bubbles since i was moving at time
I also have a 570 and the inside of the lens is fogging. It's over a year old and I've never been impressed with the downward imaging feature, as it just doesn't give the detail shown in their example. I guess I should have known that. If any 570 owners out there know the "Magic Settings" help a guy out...and clue me in. I've got everything on max sensitive, "dark" image seems to work best.
Furthermore, the fish sensor chirps but does not show images...screwed again I guess. Oh well, I never have caught a fish I saw on a depth finder.
Personally, I would have to say I wouldn't buy another 570. When this one craps out for good, I'll probably try out the competition.
Buckwheat1,
What you may be seeing is sonar-to-sonar interference. Try shutting the other sonar unit off and see if that clears up the depth jumping.
Hepotter,
Hard to say what settings will work best for you on the waters you fish. Unfortunately the 570 DI unit does not have a card reader so you cannot post a screen snapshot for us to look at. I would not recommend maxing the sensitivity out at all. I would start with the default menu settings and go from there by changing only one menu setting at a time. Are you suing this with the trolling motor or the main motor running? If trolling motor than try slowing down the Chart Speed as well.
For the Fish Alarm; not sure what depth scale you are using but the unit may not be able to display the Fish Symbol separately from the bottom or structure. To do so you may have to manually select an area of the display to zoom into by using either the Sonar Zoom View or changing the Upper and Lower Range menu settings.
