1198 Upgrade?

Gonna upgrade to an 1198 from my 898. Dont want to do it if a new model is coming out shortly. Any upgrades in the pike coming out soon? Not that big of a hurry as I got till March or so.

Any new versions of the 1198c Si or any new model that will replace the 1198c Si (when that happens) would normally get announced at iCast which is in July. Any changes between now and when that happens would be to the software of the unit which you can always install in your 1198c Si unit.

Touch screen is a novelty. I don't care if I had to use a rotary dial as long as the hardware and software was superior in it's job.

Just talked to a tech at Humminbird today (12/4/12) and he said the ONLY UPGRADE THEY ARE DOING TO THE 2013 MODELS ARE 360 DEGREE COMPATIBILITY. No other changes, so if you aren't contemplating getting the 360 degree option, the 12's are the same as the 13's. I'm going to have "Santa" bring me the 1198 for Christmas so I wanted to know if there were going to be any changes. Basspro wants $2799 for the 1198. www.universalmania.comhas it for $2259.
