BTW... I have it Ethernet Linked to my 998 and both units are usually on at the same time. Reck'n I'm get'n cross talk?

Cross talk is a possible scenario...

1 short press of the "Power" button will bring up a menu where you can turn off just the sonar in the 998 to see if the interference clears up in the 788....

Also check all the sonar settings under the "Sonar" tab because you probably reset to factory defaults...

I'll try the "shut off sonar" next time I'm out Rickie. I have Max depth set at 150' on both units.

Terry... Go under the "Sonar" tab to the "Transducer Select" setting..
Make sure it says "Dual Beam/Down Imaging"..

"Surface Clutter" should default to 5..(I would lower this some)...
"Noise Filter" should default to Low... (I would turn this Off unless it is needed for RF fix)...

You might even revert back to last software version and test...
Then reload new software and test...

Start by shutting off the sonar on the 998c Si unit first to see if that clears it up or not. If it does try turning on and up the Noise Filter menu. If not, try adjusting the Surface Clutter menu and check to see what the Digital Depth Source menu is showing. This should be on “Auto”.
